About this resource
A friend asks for “the blue one,” and there are three blue markers on the table. These free relationship skills task cards put students inside 100 moments like that, where getting along depends on what they say and do next. The set is free with a free account (no card needed), comes in two leveled sets for Grades 2–5, and builds Relationship Skills, the CASEL competency of communicating, cooperating and handling conflict.
What students practice
- Giving clear directions and checking they were understood
- Joining and ending a conversation politely
- Settling turn and rule disagreements calmly
- Being an upstander when teasing keeps happening
- Asking before hugs or borrowing, and setting kind limits
What’s inside
- Set A (Grades 2–3): A1–A50; Set B (Grades 4–5): B1–B50
- Ten areas, five cards per set each: communicating, friendships, everyday social skills, teamwork, conflicts, bullying, peer pressure, respect, boundaries and speaking up
- A theme page listing each area’s cards; two card sizes (2 or 4 per page)
- A companion file with a reflection sheet for each of the 100 cards
- 81 pages of cards, 103 pages of reflection sheets
A look inside
Set A: “Grandma tucks you in with three heavy blankets, and you feel way too hot. How could you tell her kindly? What could you ask for instead?”
Set A: “At the pool, your friends say, ‘Come on, run! The lifeguard isn’t looking.’ What are your friends pushing you to do? How could you say no and still have fun?”
Set B: “After you explain your plan, your friend says, ‘Fine,’ in a short voice. What might ‘fine’ mean here? What could you ask to be sure you understand each other?”
How to use these relationship skills task cards
Grade fit
Set A is labeled for Grades 2–3: hopscotch lines, jump rope turns, asking Grandpa to fix a kite string while he reads. Set B is labeled for Grades 4–5 and moves to trickier ground, like working with a classmate you usually avoid or helping a grandparent who is still learning English without speaking over him.
Digital version
The interactive digital task cards share as one link: you choose Set A or Set B, and students type their answers on any device with no student logins. At the end they download an answer sheet to hand in.
Good to know
The bullying cards describe repeated teasing, like a backpack unzipped in line every day, and point students toward an adult or an upstander role. Read them ahead if bullying is live in your class.

Questions teachers ask
