About this resource

Stones that won’t skip. Cursive that won’t come. A fossil sketch that needs better shading. These growth mindset worksheets turn small stumbles into 180 choices for Grades 2–5, each with three options and a line to write why. The set builds Self-Awareness, and students will hear the word “yet” a lot.

What students practice

  • Treating a mistake as a clue to what went wrong
  • Adding “yet” to “I can’t”
  • Trying a different way to practice
  • Picking the harder challenge
  • Using a tip or feedback right away
  • Noticing the effort behind someone else’s progress

What’s inside

  • 30 worksheets, each set in one place, from the dinner table to sports teams
  • Six multiple choice scenarios per page (180 in all), every one with a why line
  • 4 teacher pages: a welcome, ways to use the set, a scenario discussion guide and a differentiation note
  • 35 pages

A look inside

  • At the Beach: “Luca’s stones keep sinking instead of skipping. Luca could:” (A) Say he’ll never skip one and stomp off. (B) Say he can’t skip them, at least not today. (C) Say he can’t yet and ask Dad for a tip.
  • With Siblings: when Pippa’s brother finally does a handstand, she can “Tell him hard work, not luck, did it,” or call him a born gymnast.
  • Using Electronics: Cam’s spelling app offers easy mode or a new hard mode, and one choice is to stay on easy mode, since he gets them all.

How to use these growth mindset worksheets

  • Morning meeting: read Luca’s scenario and ask the guide’s question, what changes when you say “I can’t do it yet” instead of “I can’t do it”?
  • An SEL lesson on feedback: pull the scenarios where a server, a librarian or Grandma gives a tip, and talk about what the character does next
  • Math block: the In the Classroom page opens with Aditi, who added instead of subtracted
  • Sub plans or early finishers, since every worksheet stands alone

Grade fit

Short, familiar growth mindset scenarios, like a lumpy bed or a weaving bike, keep the reading light for Grade 2. Older students get something to argue about, since many choices differ by one detail: “Say he can’t do it yet and ask for a slice” versus peeling in small strips.

Digital version

The interactive digital version shares as one link: students pick A, B or C and type their reason, or just pick if you choose the choices-only format, on any device with no student logins. At the end they download an answer sheet to hand in.

Good to know

Several scenarios have two answers that both say “yet.” The stronger one adds a next step, like asking how to tuck for a cartwheel, so the why line is where students show they spotted the difference. The PDF has no answer key.

Questions teachers ask

Is there an answer key?

No. The teacher pages give you a discussion flow and ideas for younger and older students instead, and the why line shows you each student's thinking.

Do students need accounts for the digital version?

No. Students open your link on any device and work without logging in.
