About this resource
Read a card, and the whole class answers at once by moving. These self-awareness brain breaks bring five Self-Awareness skills into one SEL movement game for Grades K–2: emotions and feelings, self-esteem and confidence, growth mindset, positive self-talk and self-reflection. Rounds 1–5 each take one skill, and Round 6 brings them together. Every movement has a seated version, and it’s print and play, with no prep beyond printing.

Each Round Card gives the plan, what you’ll need and the goal for the end of the round
How to use these self-awareness brain breaks
Grade fit
You read every card aloud, so children don’t need to read to play. The situations come from their world, the answers are simple movements, and the corner signs use colors and shapes as well as letters.
Pairs well with
Questions teachers ask
How long does it take?
A full round is a 15–20 minute lesson. For a quick brain break, use one open practice card or a single Do card.
Do I need a lot of space?
No. Every movement has a seated version, so you can play at desks.
Do children need to read?
No. You read each card aloud, and children answer by moving.
