About this resource

Read a card, and the whole class answers at once by moving. These relationship skills brain breaks bring five Relationship Skills skills into one SEL movement game for Grades K–2: social skills, active listening, teamwork, conflict resolution and respect. Rounds 1–5 each take one skill, and Round 6 brings them together. Every movement has a seated version, and it’s print and play, with no prep beyond printing.

What students practice

  • Social Skills: taking turns to talk
  • Listening: show you heard
  • Teamwork: one goal, every piece
  • Conflicts: two wants, one fix

How to use these relationship skills brain breaks

Quick brain breakPull one open practice card or a single Do card for 2–5 minutes of movement between lessons
Full SEL lessonPlay one round (15–20 minutes) in morning meeting or SEL time; it ends calm, so children are ready for what’s next
Play the rounds in order the first time, then replay any round or pick single cards

Grade fit

You read every card aloud, so children don’t need to read to play. The situations come from their world, the answers are simple movements, and the corner signs use colors and shapes as well as letters.
