About this resource

Students rarely experience peer pressure as an obvious dare. With these peer pressure stop think act cards, Grades 2–5 rehearse the subtler pull, the moment when going along feels easier than standing apart, before it happens. Each card follows the routine of stop, think, act, and the 20 scenarios build Relationship Skills, with Self-Management and Responsible Decision-Making alongside.

What students practice

  • Spotting peer pressure in realistic forms
  • Naming what is pulling at them
  • Thinking through their options
  • Staying grounded in their own values
  • Handling pressure in kind, respectful ways

What’s inside

  • 20 Dealing with Peer Pressure cards in full-page format, large enough for the projector
  • The same 20 cards, 4 per page, for learning centers and small groups
  • 20 matching reflection sheets, each with five open-ended prompts on handling pressure kindly and respectfully
  • 52 pages: a 30-page card file and a 22-page reflection sheet file

A look inside

  • “Your friend wants you to skip part of your homework and play instead. What do you say?”
  • “Your friends want to play a game that you know is unsafe. How do you handle it?”
  • “A classmate says you should lie to the teacher to avoid getting in trouble. How do you handle it?”

How to use these peer pressure stop think act cards

  • Morning meeting about peer influence and making your own choices
  • SEL lesson with one card on the projector, then students decide what they would say
  • Writing prompts about a time students felt pressure, using the reflection sheet
  • Counseling sessions with students building assertiveness
  • Stop and think worksheets: one card, five prompts

Grade fit

The cards run from a dare to break a class rule to a friend who wants you to ignore a new student, all in situations a Grade 2 student can picture. Each reflection sheet adds five prompts, including “What might happen if you gave in to the pressure?”, for students who are ready to go deeper.

Digital version

The digital version shares as one link: students answer each card on any device, in the one-question or five-question format you pick, with no student logins. At the end they download an answer sheet to hand in.
