About this resource
Read a card, and the whole class answers at once by moving. These gratitude brain breaks turn gratitude into an SEL movement game for Grades K–2: children stand up, pick a side or walk to a corner to answer, then hear a short teaching point. Every movement has a seated version, and it’s print and play, with no prep beyond printing.
What students practice
- Good things around us
- Who helps us at school
- Say what they did
- They chose to help
- Thanks makes people smile
- Quiet thank-you
What’s inside
- A detailed teacher script for every round, written to be read aloud
- The “Thank-You Moves” poster with six moves to learn and practice
A look inside
Example card: “The pencil sharpener was broken yesterday. Today it works. Did it fix itself?”
Each Round Card gives the plan, what you’ll need and the goal for the end of the round
How to use these gratitude brain breaks
Grade fit
You read every card aloud, so children don’t need to read to play. The situations come from their world, the answers are simple movements, and the corner signs use colors and shapes as well as letters.
