A look inside
Everyday life: “How could you order your own food at a restaurant?”
Conflict: “If an argument were a knot, how might two people untie it together?”
Boundaries: “How can you tell when a pet has had enough petting?”
Speaking up: “How could you ask your family to stop using a nickname you’ve outgrown?”
How to use these relationship skills conversation cards in morning meeting
Grade fit
Younger students answer from sibling arguments and recess; older ones from teams, a group where one person always decides what’s cool, and friendships under pressure. A question like how saying “that was bullying” differs from calling someone “a bully” makes these real conversation starters for middle school, not only for elementary grades.
Digital version
The digital version turns the questions into one link: students answer on any device with no student logins and download an answer sheet to hand in.
Good to know
The Preventing and Responding to Bullying area (questions 51–60) asks what students notice and what they could say or do, in settings like the lunchroom and recess. If bullying is a live issue in your class, read those ten first.
