About this resource
Sometimes “nothing” really means the family dog is spending the night at the vet. These feelings and emotions scenario cards put students inside 60 small moments like that one and the open-ended cards ask: “What feeling might this be, and why?” The set suits Grades 2–6 and builds Self-Awareness, from the first clue in a face to the word that fits it.
What students practice
- Reading face and body clues
- Picking an exact feeling word instead of a general one
- Naming two feelings at once and what caused each
- Looking beneath behavior for a hidden feeling
- Noticing how a feeling shifts and passes
What’s inside
- Open-ended cards (“What feeling might this be, and why?”) and guided cards with three questions each
- Two journal pages for each scenario, matched to the two card versions
A look inside
How to use these feelings and emotions scenario cards
Grade fit
Theme by theme, the thinking gets harder: reading a face or body clue is concrete, while untangling two feelings or a feeling in disguise asks for more. That spread, with the guided questions for support, lets the set work from Grade 2 into Grade 6.
Digital version
The printable and digital scenario cards work together: share one link, pick the open-ended or guided format, and students respond on any device with no student logins. At the end they download an answer sheet to hand in.
Pairs well with
Questions teachers ask
Do the cards tell students which feeling is right?
No. The open-ended card asks what the feeling might be and why, so students use the clues in the scene to explain their own answer.
Do students need accounts for the digital version?
No. You share one link, and students open it on any device without logging in.
