About this resource

Resilience means getting back up, not never falling. These resilience coloring pages give Grades 2–8 short, sturdy messages about bouncing back to color and remember, as part of the Self-Management competency. As SEL coloring pages for resilience, they double as affirmation coloring pages for a quiet moment.

What students practice

  • Recovering from setbacks
  • Keeping going after a hard moment
  • Practicing encouraging phrases
  • Planning steps to rise again

What’s inside these resilience coloring pages

  • 20 resilience messages to color: 10 affirmation pages and 10 quote pages, each in portrait and landscape (40 pages)
  • The “Bouncing Back Check-In” reflection page with 8 questions
  • A 12-task resilience choice board: Reflect & Write, Draw & Create, Act & Practice, Connect & Share, in portrait and landscape
  • Classroom and counseling guides, a printing guide and a list of all 20 resilience messages; 56 pages in all

A look inside

  • Sample messages: “I bounce back from challenges.” “I am built to overcome.” “Fall. Rise. Repeat.” “Tough times grow strong minds.”
  • One choice board task has students draw a mountain and label three steps they took, or can take, to rise after a setback. Students can also practice a phrase like “I can try again.”

Grade fit

The set fits a tough stretch of the school year, counseling groups or a perseverance unit. Each message comes in portrait and landscape, so students can choose a layout. It fits Grades 2–8.

Pairs well with

The same messages appear on Resilience Bookmarks to Color, so the reminder can stay in a backpack. For a longer lesson set, see Bouncing Back — Resilience Activity Kit.
