| SoA-INC-2-4 | Noticing when someone is left out and taking action (L16) is a specific form of caring response applied to inclusion |
| RS-COM-2-5 | Giving specific positive feedback on a peer’s work or idea (L20) uses the same specific-noticing skill as SoA-EMP-2-5 |
Key Vocabulary
- Caring response — A specific action you choose to help someone who is having a hard time — not just a feeling, but something you actually do
- Contextually appropriate — The caring action fits the situation: who the person is, what they need, and what the setting allows
- Specific notice — When you name something particular about what someone did — not “good job” but “I noticed you kept going even when it was hard”
- Effort — The work someone puts into something — how hard they tried, not just what they produced
Materials
- Whiteboard or chart paper for I Do modeling and the sentence frame anchor
- Before the week begins: Post your unit anchor chart and I Can Statement where students can see them — you’ll reference both throughout the week.
- — post both segment frames before Day 1
How this lesson is structured: Each skill segment below has an I Do (teacher models the skill with a realistic scenario) and a We Do (class practices together with your guidance). Independent practice — the You Do — lives in the practice resources that go alongside this lesson.
