About this resource
Self-control lives in the short gap between wanting to do something and doing it. These impulse control affirmation cards help that gap grow for Grades 2–8, with 30 short, steady messages about pausing, slowing down and choosing. They build Self-Management, and many cards name a concrete move, like breathing or counting, that students can actually use.
What students practice
- Pausing before acting
- Counting or breathing to slow down
- Letting a moment pass before reacting
- Thinking first, then taking action

- 30 direct, accessible affirmation cards, 4 per page
- One page listing all 30 for planning
- Two levels of reflection sheet, each in a full-page and a half-page layout

- Teacher guide, “Ways to Use This Pack”; 46 pages in all
A look inside
- “I can pause before I act.”
- “I can count to five before I respond.”
- “I can let the moment pass before reacting.”

Grade fit
“I can count to five before I respond.” gives a second grader a step to follow, and older students can write about when the pause is hardest on the deeper reflection sheet. These positive affirmations for students fit Grades 2–8.
