A look inside
How to use these gratitude reading passages with second graders
Grade fit
Second graders reading at levels K to M will find short sentences and familiar places here: a bedroom shelf, the school office, a wagon that needs fixing, a birthday party. The nonfiction stays concrete too: How to Say a Great Thank-You boils it down to four simple steps. They are reading passages with questions that young readers can finish on their own or with a little support.
Digital version
With the interactive digital version, you share one link and students read each passage and answer the questions on any device, with no student logins. At the end they download an answer sheet to hand in.

Questions teachers ask
Is there an answer key?
Yes, for the multiple-choice questions. You will find it on the final page of the PDF. The two open-ended questions are for students’ own ideas, so they have no key.
Are the people in the passages real?
No. The PDF states that all people, places and events in these passages are fictional.
Can students use it without logging in?
Yes. The digital version opens from one shared link on any device, and there are no student accounts.
