About this resource
Students know the small details of the grown-ups who care for them. This Father’s Day survey and reflection activity turns those details, from his favorite treat to his weekend habits, into a two-page keepsake for Grades 2–4, with five caregiver versions so every student can take part. It builds Social Awareness through perspective-taking and gratitude.
What students practice
- Seeing a caregiver from his point of view
- Saying thank you in writing
- Describing someone with well-chosen words
- Reflecting on what they learned about him
What’s inside
- 5 caregiver versions: Dad, Grandpa, Pop-Pop, Uncle and Stepdad
- Page one, “All About My Dad”: checkboxes for his favorite food, color, treat and weekend activity, a superpowers list, three describing words and short sentence starters
- Page two, “Thinking About My Dad”: what students want to thank him for, what they learned about him and how they feel, then a mini letter and a picture box
- Color and black-and-white copies of every page (20 student pages)
- SEL notes and printing tips; 23 pages in all
A look inside
- “My Dad’s Superpowers”
- “I think he loves it when I:”
- “One thing I wish we could do together more often:”
How to use this Father’s Day survey and reflection activity
- A calm activity for the week before Father’s Day
- Print the two printable worksheets back to back so each keepsake goes home as one sheet
- Let each student choose the version that fits their family
- Lean on the checkboxes for reluctant writers, and let confident writers fill the mini letter
Grade fit
The checkbox format keeps the survey manageable for Grade 2, and the mini letter gives Grade 4 writers space to say more, so the activity fits Grades 2–4.
Good to know
